With the relics recovered, you journey back to the Imperial City to claim your reward. If the player has collected all the relics intact: You struggle to lift your weapon as a group of thieves join the fray. The player has recovered a relic, and the Dealer draws a Greed Monster Card "Your Imperial masters would be most proud. The relic is heavier in your hands than you expected, and its presence clouds your thoughts. The player receives Ragnar's Cursed Blade Take the cursed relic and fight the mage under burden. "Or," She continues, "You can let me keep it, but - should you best me - it will be lost to you forevermore." A. "But be warned, its curse will sap your strength and your will to fight. You've come this far, but you've failed to bring the relics intact. She looks you up and down, "Are you clumsy or foolhardy? I cannot tell. "So, you seek the final relic?," the mage says. If the player has not collected the other relics intact: She holds the remaining relic out, mockingly. "A thief can't be trusted to deliver on a job, but one can always rely on the predictability of the Empire to send their dogs." "I see you bring the relics," the mage says with a grin. If the player has collected all of the relics intact:

The Dealer draws a 1 of Arcane card with the Dealer's Mark These relics can be used to defeat him but here you are looking to return them to him." "You've been sent here to do the bidding of the true enemy. Wheel Gambit 2 (5 cards: All of the previous minus the one selected) WG-2 Success

You continue to wind your way up the tower. "Do you even know why you're here? How much did they tell you when they ordered you out into the wilds? When they sent you out here like a dog after a bone." Wheel Gambit 1 (6 cards: 4 Success, 2 "4 Life per Curse" Pain Cards) WG-1 SuccessĪs you climb the tower stairs, a voice calls down from above. You will need to ascend it to reach the mage at its summit.Ī storm swells ominously overhead. The relics lead you to a mysterious tower. This is a challenge-specific encounter for The Emperor, as well as the second to last one (see Notes). Just.something I found REALLY helpful that the game hints the opposite of just prior from Justice. For the Encounter in the Bounty Hunter Adventure, see Mage Tower. In spite of what Justice, the challenge right before it might indicate, you can singlehandedly wipe out the incoming Northerner waves in Hanged Man. Friend? I was almost right there with you after my second attempt. 120 health down to 21 health by the time I kill him and naturally, one of the mages kills me. Rethgar's Quake only stuns these enemies and Malaclypse's shield vanishes as soon as it's made. Now the Shade has drained a quarter of my health and is standing in the middle of three mage AOE damage rings. I used a Rethgar's Quake immediately to knock down two empires, finished them and then had to bash/slash/dodge/bash/slash/dodge the third to death. That disappears the moment the Shade starts his drain. I'm always choosing Malaclypse as a companion because his shield is by far the safest companion ability. I saved all 10 villages in The Hanged Man, got the Deep Water card (from my encounter deck because I wanted equipment) and found myself fighting 3 Empire Phalanx, 3 Mages and 1 Shade.
